**MiTek has an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, customer oriented, structural engineer with great people skills to join our growing team in suburban Milwaukee. In this position you will collaborate with and be an integral part of a technical sales support team that helps drive our business for the design and manufacture of complex structures for the logistics, e-commerce, and material handling industry, helping to move goods and services around the world.
This position works directly with the sales team to provide technical input and preliminary design for project pursuits. Working within a fast-paced team, this position is responsible for reviewing applicable codes, performing preliminary structural analysis, putting together documents for pricing, and coordinating with the sales team and clients to meet customer needs.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Provide technical input for proposal requests to determine the appropriate design approach for each project pursuit.
• Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and oversight of each assigned project, collaborating with the design and sales team on a regular basis.
• Investigate multiple options to determine the most cost-effective design.
• Assemble pricing documents for the team.
• Attend meetings and provide engineering input to the client, as needed.
• Work with the production engineering team to support customer requests during the design and installation process.
• Comment on technical feasibility of client requests, as needed.
• Demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices. Able to draw solutions from a wide range of experience.
• Work with sales and others across MiTek to foster innovation throughout the design and manufacturing process.
• Develop tools and processes to perform projects efficiently and sustainably.
• Collaborate with the Technical Sales Support Manager to achieve the department's goals
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

What You'll Add to MiTek

• Bachelor's or master’s degree civil/structural Engineering.
• 2 to 8 years of experience in the design and analysis of steel structures for the building industry.
• Professional licensure or EIT certification is a plus
• A highly motivated, proactive approach with a willingness to take on new challenges.
• Knowledge of building codes, design and construction standards, and efficient construction techniques, specifically for steel structures.
• The ability to take on multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work in a team environment to find the best solution for each client.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• A desire to make a difference.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office applications
• Experience with, or ability to learn, a variety of structural analysis software packages.
